How SlideDeckMaker works

Create a deck

• Prompt: describe the deck ("10-slide seed pitch for a farm-to-kitchen startup").
• Document: upload PDF, DOCX, PPTX, Markdown, TXT or CSV. Choose Generate, Condense or Keep my text.
• URL: paste a public web page; we read the text (not private pages).
• Pick deck, doc or one-page website — you can switch later.

Faithful-to-source mode

• Turn on Faithful mode when you upload a source. Every number on every slide is matched to your file (₹6 Cr = 6 crore = 60,000,000).
• Numbers we cannot find are removed and listed. Each slide shows ✓ traced numbers with the exact quote.
• Charts made from CSV/table data use your exact values — the AI never types them.

Edit

• Click any text on the slide to jump to its field. Changes save automatically and appear live for everyone.
• AI commands per slide: make shorter, add detail, cards, timeline, stats, chart the table, split, add image, speaker notes — or type your own instruction.
• Layouts adapt automatically to the content; pick a fixed layout from the Layout menu any time.
• Version history: save a named version and restore any time.
• Move anything: press ✥ Move, then drag the title, text, or image/chart block anywhere. Arrow keys nudge 0.1 in (Shift = 0.5 in). The same position goes to PowerPoint, PDF and video.
• Whole deck: type an instruction and tick “to every slide”, or use Make every slide shorter / more visual / notes for every slide.

Brand kits and company templates

• Brand page → Import .pptx: upload your company template. We read its theme colours, heading/body fonts, background and logo.
• Or set colours, fonts and logo by hand. Text contrast is always kept readable (WCAG AA).
• Apply a brand kit per deck from the Design tab.
• Export → PowerPoint on your company template: your real slide master, layouts, logo and background, with titles and bullets in your own placeholders. 16:9 decks are scaled to fit 4:3 templates.

Present and share

• Present: full screen, arrow keys, P for presenter view (notes, timer, next slide), audience window for a second screen.
• Share: create one link per audience (e.g. one per investor). Optional download, password and email gate.
• Analytics: views, unique viewers, time per slide, how far people got.

Export

• PowerPoint: native and editable — titles in title placeholders, real bullets, native charts with data, tables, notes, auto-fit text.
• PDF: vector PDF.
• Google Slides: one click (Google sign-in) or open the PPTX in Google Slides.
• HTML: a single self-contained file. PNG: every slide as a 1920×1080 image (zip).
• Video (Pro): speaker notes become narration; Make MP4 encodes on our server (H.264, plays everywhere).

Custom domain (Pro)

• Settings → Custom domain: enter e.g. decks.yourcompany.com and add a CNAME record to our host at your DNS provider.
• Published docs and web pages then open at decks.yourcompany.com/<page>. Pick which page shows at the root.

Pricing: free, paid engines at cost

• Everything is free. Surge AI runs on our own GPU at no charge.
• A few engines cost us money per use — the Claude fallback (only when our AI fails a quality check) and Sarvam voice. You pay exactly that cost from a prepaid balance (Billing page), no markup.
• No balance? The free path runs instead: our AI or the rules engine for text, a silent captioned video for voice-over.

AI and privacy

• Surge AI runs on our own GPU server first; a commercial model is used only if ours fails a quality check.
• Your files are used only to make your deck. We never train models on your content.

API (Pro)

Create a key in Settings → API keys. Send it as Authorization: Bearer sk_surge_…. API calls use the same credits as the app.
